Ben Tumbling

The name Ben Tumbling has been a popular one amongst kids who were born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s. Didn't really made the connection until watching stumbling upon this movie based on his life story. Ben is a small time crook doing theft for a syndicate. He gets arrested and snitches on the police that were involved. The police retaliates buy torturing him and he fights back. He flees and becomes the most wanted man in the country. Its a mess how he got to that point, it a series of vignettes that one can say an over sensationalist take on how his life went. He is no anti-hero and probably just something to bank on while the story remains fresh. Lito Lapid as Ben is really somewhat overreaching, he can do the stunts and make the action sequences better but really doubt that it resonates as someone in his early 20s and all the pressure of being a dangerous and wanted criminal. Although, surrounded by a solid supporting cast they just played there usual stereotypical roles of corrupt policemen, low life criminals, an Eddie Garcia cameo and a damsel in Velez whose character arc quickly gets in the movie that was supposed to be about Tumbling. Maybe the movie fared well at that time, the hook in watching how the most wanted man in the Philippines lived his short life but not worth your time.
