Through the lens of intellectuals such as Beatriz Nascimento, Lélia Gonzalez, and Edneia Gonçalves, the documentary recovers and celebrates the importance of these parties as spaces of resistance and affirmation of Black identity in Brazil, connecting Quilombola traditions to contemporary urban culture.
